Huntingdon County

About the Area

Huntingdon is the county seat of Huntingdon County. It is in an agricultural and fruit-growing region, with valuable forests and deposits of iron, coal, fire clay, and limestone. Huntingdon is also well known for the 8,300-acre Raystown Lake which is very popular with fishing enthusiasts and the weekend crowd. People enjoy the fresh mountain air and the thrill of landing striped bass, largemouth bass, walleye, and more. Hiking, swimming (public lake beaches), and the thrill of driving a motorcycle or a high-performance car along a mountain road are just some of the popular pastimes for visitors and natives of this county alike.
